Narembeen Shire Office Refurbishment

ORA have begun working with the Shire of Narembeen on a design to refurbish their Offices and Council Chambers. The building was designed in the mid 70’s by Cameron Chisolm Nichols, a practice that has been in continuous operation in WA since 1884.

The building is smartly designed, observing many passive solar principles, and has a neat and functional plan. The building is orientated due north and has deep-set walls that provide shade in summer and direct warm sun in winter. While the brown brick and pyramid roof forms aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, we love the aesthetic and love working on buildings that have a history to them.

We’ve begun working with the shire to hear more about the issues they’re having with their building and what they’d like to address. We look forward to helping them and proposing some solutions.

We'd love to let you know what we're up to. Subscribe here.
